Jünger,
Ernst, Penguin Classics, NY, NY , 2004 (English)
The classic ww1 German war book. Jünger
is simply amazing. He survives the storm and
probably 10 or more wounds to win the Blue Max. A
quick read that purists say you must read in German.
This is a paperback, cheap, and you get a feel. Jünger
is an officer. You see things through that
lens. He teaches as you read and I do not think I
could have survived as he did. Jünger is
everything Martin is not. A good comparison.
This guy lived to be 100. I am told that the new
translations are far better. I read the old
translation so maybe worth another read.
