Woolley, Charles, Schiffer Military History,  Atglen PA,2000 (English)

What can be said about the Woolley books.  Superb. A collection of photographs from the period which really can be considered tremendous source material.  VERY thick and big.  Heavy books. Wonderful pictures.

While I was writing this I accidentally came across the picture on page 23 of volume one.  A OYV with officer’s cockades. I had been told categorically that no such photo existed. Oh well you can never learn it all.

These are must haves if you insist on period photographs.  Wonderful references.  Volume one is Infantry, artillery, Jager, Landsturm, mountain, insignia, and weapons. Volume two is Air, Cavalry, Assault troops Pickelhauben, steel helmets and vehicles.. 300+ Pages. $60-$80 Easily found.
