This helmet came to us from a German family direct.
There have been no other collectors involved. The
condition of the helmet and the gilding is wonderful and
it retains much of the original shine. The only thing of
interest here is that the owner was a reserve officer
and he has the incorrect line active wappen with a
landwehr cross. This was fairly common but not
entirely correct.
The issue with the wappen is that there is a motto on
the wings AND on the cross. You can see the cross
was not the highest quality.
Nice liner and undisturbed helmet.
